Welcome Summer

Today, the Summer Solstice ushers us into this new season. Since the Spring Equinox, each day has been expanding in daylight. Today, there is more light than darkness. There is an abundance of golden warmth.

God, our Creator, thank You for everything You gave us in spring. We thank You for the season of preparation and planting. The seeds have been sown, the plants have awakened from their winter slumber, the days are long and the air is warm.

So often, summer is thought of as a time to make memories – family vacations, camps for children and teens, swimming, bonfires, and a time of relaxation.

God, our Creator, we invite You into these moments. May we find You as we connect with family and friends. May we see You as we experience the abundance of Your creation. May we hear You speaking to us as we find moments of relaxation. Let us encounter You in this season of light and warmth.

Summer reminds us to celebrate the beauty of life.

There is a reward after the travail of spring.

Ezekiel 34:27 says, The trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land.

Thank you God, for the security that summer brings. With the abundance of crops, we are secure knowing we will be nourished in the coming seasons. Thank you, God, for your provision in this season of summer. We celebrate Your goodness and recognize the splendour of creation.

 Welcome summer.

God, our Creator, we thank you for the gift of this season.
